We are once again processing firearms license applications. However, please be advised that due to a large backlog of applications there will be a delay in response to you regarding setting up your appointment. Also there will be a delay in processing your application. We can not offer a specific time-frame for either at this time. This is an unavoidable inconvenience. You may also call Detective Sergeant Petrosh at (508)539-1480 extension 7237. Please call only once. Your calls will be processed in the order they are received, again with the inevitable delay. We thank you for your patience.

New E-Mail Scam On The Rise
Over the last several days we have received quite a few calls from Mashpee residents about emails they are receiving. In the email, the sender often sends a password the recipient may have used in the past. The sender then states that he or she is in possession of “embarassing videos” and will share those videos with the recipients friends and acquaintances. The sender states to avoid this the “victim” must send him or her money via bitcoin, and that this is non-negotiable. THIS IS A SCAM. Do not answer the email and most certainly do not pay anyone any money! Delete the email, and if the password is one you did use or are using, consider changing it immediately.
